Taiwan Semiconductor Co., Ltd. (TSC) Li-Je site has been honored with the Ministry of Environment’s “114th Year Outstanding Regional Mutual-Aid Organization for the Management of Toxic and Concerned Chemical Substances” award. The recognition, nominated by the Yilan County Government and reviewed by the Ministry, was presented at the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) in Hsinchu. The ceremony was presided over by Director-General Tsai Meng-Yu of the Department of Chemical Substances Management, acknowledging outstanding organizations across Taiwan for their excellence in chemical management and emergency preparedness.
This award highlights Li-Je’s long-term commitment to chemical safety management, on-site emergency preparedness, and collaboration with local mutual-aid partners. The plant has actively worked with the Yilan County Government and local fire departments to establish robust communication, response, and drill mechanisms, continuously enhancing site safety and resilience.
Prior to receiving the award, the site conducted a Toxic Chemical Emergency Response Drill on October 27, co-organized with the Yilan County Environmental Protection Bureau and the Luodong and Wujie Fire Brigades. The exercise simulated a leakage incident in a waste-storage area, testing real-time notification procedures, on-site zoning and monitoring, casualty rescue, and spill containment measures to verify the plant’s emergency response effectiveness.
The drill was supervised and evaluated by the Yilan County Environmental Protection Bureau, with support from the Wujie Fire Brigade in conducting simulated rescue operations. Multiple on-site response teams participated—including notification, detection, rescue, medical, decontamination, and logistics units—demonstrating strong cross-department coordination and practical emergency capability.
TSC stated that the Li-Je site will continue joint exercises with local authorities, further strengthen personnel training and real-time equipment monitoring, and remain committed to creating a safer workplace while fulfilling its responsibility toward local sustainability.
